April 2007. Muenster UAS awarded as one of the Top 5 Universities in Germany
The Muenster University of Applied Sciences is one of the five universities in Germany applying the best strategies of university-industry knowledge exchange and tech transfer. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Donors' Association for the Promotion of the German Sciences and Humanities decorated the transfer work of Muenster University of Applied Sciences which also was linked to a prize money of 250.000 Euro. Thus, Muenster UAS is one of the five laureates. Altogether, 85 public and private universities in Germany applied for the award. The manager of the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre, Prof. Dr. Thomas Baaken, together with the rector of Muenster UAS, Prof. Dr. Klaus Niederdrenk and BASF board member, Dr. Axel Bode presented the transfer approach of Muenster UAS as finalists in Berlin to the final round competition jury. Main focus of the approach is the focus on strategic partnering and Science-to-Business Marketing. The prize money will be used for new surveys and the professionalizing of the customer relationship management (CRM) at the university. Linked to it, a set of seminars and courses for sharpening the profession of knowledge transfer and commercialisation managers will be developed.
